Fasting for Health
Well I do fast, I am not a doctor, and it is not about prayer.
I fast for 2 reasons. One is the fact that not eating one day a week saves me money for better things. Two, if I have an unexpected social engagement I know that I can eat and not feel guilty or be awkward about not.
What is Fasting?
Fasting is abstaining willingly from all edible items. Usually food and water. Sometimes it is done for religious reasons but I do it for my health only.
I do drink water and my fast is never longer then one day a week. I can't tell you girls how important eating is, but that will have to come later since this is about fasting and this is the second time I am typing this article.
For me it is a nice thing, since I cook almost 99.9% of my own food due to my own silliness, the fast gives me a break day to clean my house and not have to cook. I try to make food the least of my worries and take it off my mind when I am fasting. I will no grocery shop or cook for others during it. I do make sure I drink 8 cups of water as well.
The hardest part of a fast is pretty much, what do you do with your time? How do you keep from being bored?
Things to do while Fasting:
- Read a book. (This can easily fill your day.)
- Clean anything. (Not everything is perfectly clean right?)
- Give your self a mani/pedi. (Cause you should look good to feel good)
- Write a blog!
- Go window shopping. (Never buy on impulse)
- Go internet shopping.
- YouTube Chain. (Go to YouTube.com watch a video and then watch one of the suggested videos. See how off topic you can get.)
- Watch some great movies to pass time.
- Be crafty. (You could make something to make some extra money!)
- Go for a walk.
- Take a nap. (I nap every fast day)
